Our nursery is staffed with experienced nursery nurses 24 hours a day, and you may use the nursery at any time. The nursery is fully accredited by the Arizona Perinatal Trust - Level II and is equipped to handle basic complications and emergencies.

SERVICES FOR YOUR BABY

Your baby's birth certificate and footprints will be completed while you are in the hospital. In addition, you will be given an application for a social security number for your baby.

All newborns are given a universal hearing screening and the option to receive a hepatitis B vaccine. All babies also have their blood drawn for the newborn metabolic screen (Phenylketonuria) to test for metabolic diseases.

Online Baby Photos and Electronic Birth Announcements
We know that relatives and friends will be begging to see photos of your little one. Paradise Valley Hospital offers two free Internet options to share your baby's birth with family and friends. You have the option to share baby's first photo on the Internet and/or send electronic birth announcements at absolutely no charge

Baby's First Photo
You will be given an authorization form that if signed, allows a "Growing Family" photographer to take a photo of your baby before you are discharged. You can post your baby's photo on our "online nursery" for family and friends to see.

Electronic Birth Announcements
We also have custom software available through our website that will allow you to create your own birth announcements online. You select the border, write your message, including your baby's birth date, length, and weight. When accessing the birth announcements, a special user identification number is required by the user to ensure security for you and your family.
